The authority recently announced the procurement of Isuzu Giga Rescue Fire Engines, a move aimed at bolstering its firefighting and rescue capacities, particularly in the face of increasing natural disasters. The decision to purchase the Isuzu Giga Rescue Fire Engine stems from the Ethiopian Flood Management Project (EFMP), funded by the World Bank. The project aims to improve flood management and disaster response in Ethiopia, with a focus on enhancing the capacity of the Ethiopian Disaster Risk Management Commission (EDRMC). As part of this initiative, the EDRMC has invited bids for the procurement of fire engines, including the Isuzu Giga Rescue Fire Engine, to strengthen its emergency response fleet. The Isuzu Giga Rescue Fire Engine is a specialized vehicle designed for efficient firefighting and rescue operations. It features a powerful diesel engine, capable of delivering high performance under demanding conditions.
